15時間と少しの睡眠
昨晩は疲れのせいで23時ごろに寝た。そして今日起きたのが15時すぎ。15時間と少しの睡眠をとったことになる。降り続く雨のせいもある。
起きてすぐに学校に行きゼミに出る。

雨のち晴れた
午前中は十日町にいた。Fを迎えにいって戻ってきてからサイゼリヤで昼ご飯を食べる。ファミレスランチでもう、お腹いっぱい。
しばらくサイゼで過ごしていると、今朝の雨がうそのように晴れてきた。さわやかだけど、眠い。
大雨
台風23号の影響で長岡にも大雨が降り、2004/7/13ほど騒がれていないけど被害が出ていた。
見た目のインパクトが強かったのが、大手大橋から見た信濃川の被害。泥で濁った水が土手のところまで来ており中洲なんかはすべて沈んでいた。河川敷にあるテニスコートや畑、畑にある車も飲み込まれていたようで、テニスコートのポールや車の窓から上が水面に顔を出していた。

就職ガイダンス
朝から携帯が鳴って目が覚める。とくだねの時間ぐらいだった。ごはんを少し食べてコンビニに寄ってから学校にいく。
今日は就職ガイダンスがあるのだった。これは外せない。まず先に午前中のデータベースの講義を受ける。人が少ない…。雨のせいだろうか。
講義室から研究室に戻る間に、PETボトルのコーヒーを紛失したことに気づく。なにが悔しいって、手に持っていて忘れたこと。寝不足のせいかぼけーっとしていた。
就職ガイダンスでは中々おもしろい冗談が聞けた。当然それだけでなく興味深い話もあった。
雨
学校から帰るころには雨と風がひどくなっていた。研究室が入っている棟の一階のドアが風で開閉するぐらい。恐る恐る運転しながら帰宅した。
夕飯を食べてすぐにソファで寝てしまうのは久しぶりだった。
適性テスト
適性テストの結果が返ってきた。思考度と計画度に優れていて、同調度に劣るらしい。そうは思わない。

肝心の中身(ソフトウェア)は前回のINFOBARと同じく三洋かあ。ジョグ信者なのでこれは見送りしとこ。

ところで au design project の公式なページ(上記)でメニューの、製品情報 - SPECから辿れるページに型番(A5508SA)やメーカ(三洋マルチメディア鳥取)の情報がないのは罠だろうか。
いや、もしかしたら三洋以外の機種を使用しているユーザをすぐにがっかりさせないためのauの配慮なのかもしれない。

天気が悪い
朝起きれません。
perlの勉強
Blosxomのpluginを作るためにperlを勉強する。
マーマーパッ
タイで帰国前に買って8ヶ月ほど放置していたマーマー(袋入り即席めん)トムヤムクン味をマーマーパッにして食べた。
マーマーパッとは水にふやかした即席めんを肉、野菜や卵と炒めた焼きそばのようなもの。タイの屋台でしばしば食べた。
マーマーのめんにはいくつか種類があり、そうめんのようなものとラーメンのようなものを混ぜて炒めたら玉になる部分ができてちょっと失敗。付属のトムヤムクンペーストとしょうゆで味付けしたらビールによく合いました。

Debian: SSHの導入
なぜSSHなのか
この時期にSSHを導入しようと思ったきっかけは大きく分けて二つあります。
まずはSSHがリモートアクセスに際してtelnetよりsecureだから、もとい、それが定説だからです。話によればSSHは多くの認証方式を利用できるからsecureであり、telnetやftpにとって代わるものであるとのこと。そうなれば流行を追う者としては使わないわけには、知らないわけには行きません。
次の理由は第一の理由のベースにあるものです。それはただの不純な動機、リモートアクセスってかっこいいと思う気持ちでした。 自分の命令(コマンド)が回線を通して遠隔地のマシンを操作する、なんて インターネットをはじめとしたネットワークが普及した今となっては当り前のことですがそこにロマンを感じてしまうのが私です。公衆電話と音響カプラで銀行にアクセスしたり、新しいのではマトリックスの映画のようなかっこよさがそこにはあります。
そんなわけで今回、Debian(sarge)とWindows 2000間のSSHによるリモートアクセス環境の構築を行います。
Debianの設定
まずDebian側の設定を行います。SSH関係のpackageにはどんなものがあるのかと、"ssh"というキーワードで検索すると

Etermが目に追えない速さでスクロールしてしまいました。
$ sudo apt-cache search ssh | wc -l
で調べたら97行あった。これではどれを選んで良いか検討がつかないので初心者らしくaptitudeでdescriptionを読みながらインストールするpackageを選ぶことにします。
aptitudeで"SSH"をキーワードに検索をかけるとそのままSSHという名前のpackageがあったのでそれをインストールしてみます。すると、「SSH プロトコル 2 のみを許可します」という質問が出てきました。今まで SSH プロトコル 1 を使う環境がなかったのと、設定のが複雑になるのを避けるために、SSH プロトコル 2 のみ許可することにしました。
その次の質問はよくわからないのでダイアログの指示に従っていきます。
するといくつかの設定がなされ、SSHがインストールされました。
SSHの設定
SSHはインストールされたものの、そのままではリモートログインできそうな気がしません。SSHのマニュアルを読んでも英語で書かれておりよく理解できないのでwebで日本語の資料を探すことにします。
googleで検索した資料によるとまず鍵を作る必要があるようです。
- Debian 初級からの脱出(debianLAN)

を参考にしました。
$ ssh-keygen -t rsa
としてパスフレーズを入力するとhome/.ssh以下に鍵が作成されました。
Your identification has been saved in /home/yusuke/.ssh/id_rsa. Your public key has been saved in /home/yusuke/.ssh/id_rsa.pub.
loginテスト
とりあえずDebian自身にSSHでloginできるか試すために公開鍵を認証鍵としてコピーしました。
$ cp ~/.ssh/id_rsa.pub ~/.ssh/authorized_keys
そしてlocalhostにsshしてみます。
$ ssh localhost
すると「localhostの信頼性が確立されません」というメッセージが出ました。
The authenticity of host 'localhost (127.0.0.1)' can't be established.
それでも構わず続行すると、Debianのwelcomeメッセージが表示されました。どうやらloginできたようです。しかし、上のメッセージによるとsecureではないのでSSHの醍醐味は味わうことができていないようです。
Windows側の設定
フリーのtelnet/sshクライアントであるPuTTYをインストールします。
- putty.zip
- puttykjbin.zip (日本語版)
をそれぞれダウンロードして、puttykjbin.zipの中身をputtyのディレクトリにコピーしました。日本語版を起動できるようにputtyjp.exeのショートカットを作り、登録しておきました。

のsshの項を参考にしてPuTTYの設定を進めます。そして パスワード認証による接続 に成功しました。
Debianにある公開鍵をPuTTYにインポートするためにpscp.exeを使ってみます。Windowsメニューの「ファイル名を指定して実行」から
cmd /f:on
としてコマンドプロンプトを起動します。"/f:on"はコマンドプロンプトにおいてファイル名補完機能を使えるようにするオプションです。Ctrl-f を押すと補完されます。これでPuTTYをインストールしたディレクトリ(例えばC:\Program files\putty)に入ります。
cd "\Program files\putty"
そこでpscpを実行してid_dsaをWindowsにコピーします。
C:\Program Files\putty>pscp -p [user]@[host]:.ssh/id_dsa .
パスワードを入力するとid_dsaがコピーされます。さらに先ほどの資料に沿って進め、鍵認証によるloginを試みると
Server refused our key
という不穏なメッセージが表示されました。これでわからなくなってしまいました。
先ほどと同じ手順でid_rsaをWindowsにコピーします。それを元にPuTTYのPrivate Keyを作成・登録して再度接続を試みたところ、
Authenticationg with public key "imported-openssh-key"
というメッセージが表示されました。どうやら認証がうまくいったようです。

Ubuntu Linuxの大きな志を見た
Ubuntu Linuxはかわいいだけじゃなかった
先日知ったこのUbuntu Linux。WEBとスクリーンショットのかわいさゆえ興味を持ち、2ちゃんねるのスレッド(Ubuntu Linux - http://pc5.2ch.net/test/read.cgi/linux/1097235967/)などをチェックするようになりました。
Ubuntuという聞き慣れない、英語らしくない単語の意味はWikipedia のUbuntuの項(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ubuntu)に詳しく解説されていました。それによればズールー語のUbuntuは南アフリカの倫理・観念であり、人々が祖国への忠誠と相互のつながりを持ち合わせていることに焦点をあてているそう。
その意味を言い換えると、他人に対する人間性(humanity)とか、人間性をつなぐ普遍的な共有の約束の信仰、となるそう。
本家Ubuntu Linux(http://www.ubuntulinux.org/)では加えてUbuntuが
"I am what I am because of who we all are".
という意味も持つ、としています。私たち全てである者のために私は私であるものである、と直訳しても何がなんだかわからないので部分的に訳すと、私は私-->自分らしくという感じになるのでしょうか。
The Ubuntu Linux distributionはそんなUbuntuの精神をソフトウェアの世界に持ち込もうとしているそうです。
うーん。かわいいだけじゃなくて名前からして深い意味が込められていました。

オーディオ選びを考える
オーディオに対する姿勢
人々のオーディオに対する要求と思い入れは様々である。SONYやKENWOODの一式コンポで満足な人がいれば高価な単品コンポを 必要とする人もいる。そこには、例えばCD(音源)の音が聴こえればいいという要求からCDに記録された空気や臨場感まで感じ取りたいという要求まである。
どんな人でも、悪い音で聴くよりはいい音で聴きたいと思うはずだ。しかし多くの人は音質より価格を優先してコンポを選択するため、とても高価なコンポを買わない。それを買う人はいわゆるオーディオマニアとしてくくられる。
私はオーディオにお金をかけない人なので、非オーディオマニアとしてのオーディオ選びについて考えてみる。
機能と価格
ところで、非オーディオマニアがオーディオに費やす金額はいくらかと考えると、それはつまり家電量販店で売られているようなコンポの価格帯、つまり3万台から始まり高級品でも8万円程度ということになる。
このクラスのコンポはいわゆる一式コンポが多く、代表的な構成は
- アンプ
- スピーカ
- CDプレイヤ
- MDプレイヤ/レコーダ
- チューナ
といったところだ。ソースはCD、MD、チューナの3つがありMDは録音もできるのでスタンドアロンでの利用が可能である。
スタンドアロン利用が可能であることが問題になるのは、既にソースを保有している場合である。例えばPCをソースとして利用している場合はPCで再生と録音ができるならコンポに付属のCDとMDは用なしになる。
それならコンポからCDとMD機能を削ってアンプやスピーカをグレードアップしたいと思うもの。でも一式コンポではそれができない。だったらそこそこの価格で手に入る単品コンポを探してみるべきだ。
私はこんなことを考えてオーディオを選んでいます。

そして午後はまた寝るという贅沢な一日の過ごし方をした。んで夜はバイトへ。
