ml_ipod をインストールしてみた。

ml_ipodとiTunes

　ml_ipod(The winamp ipod plugin) は iPod の曲を管理する Winamp のプラグインです。AppleのiTunesより使い勝手がよいと僕は思います。

　ml_ipodを知るまで iPod 、 iPod Shuffle の曲管理に iTunes を使ってきたけどMac 風インタフェース(設定がメニューバーの編集の中にあったり)に馴染めなかったり、他のウィンドウから切り替えるときにタイトルバーをクリックすると最大化 / 最小化される(最新版に更新したら改善された)、自動起動を抑止する方法がわからない (まだわからない) という不満を感じていた。

この ml_ipod のよいところはとにかく手軽なこと。 Winamp の Winamp Library ウィンドウに曲のファイルを D&D するだけで曲の転送が始まる。USB メモリにファイルを転送するような感覚。iTunes のように「プレイリストを編集してから更新をクリック、しばし待つ。」という方法に煩わしさを感じる人にはちょうどよい方法だと思う。

インストール

　ml_ipodはWinampのプラグインとして動作します。Winampをインストールしていない場合はしておいてください。(WINAMP.COM | Winamp.com: Media Player, Skins, Plug-ins, Videos, Songs, Riffs, Jams, Grooves)

　まずml_ipodを公式ページ(ml_ipod: Your iPod just became useful.)のDownloadsからダウンロードします。ダウンロードしたファイルを実行すればすぐにインストールされます。
