| ｍｅｍｏ 「Day-O」と並ぶ、ベラフォンテの代表作です。 ジャマイカの港から遠いよその国の港へと船出する水夫達が、キングストンに残した恋人や騒がしいマーケットなどを懐かしみ、船出に心を沈ませる、という歌です。 コンサートで最終曲にこの曲を歌うときは、ラストの「I had to leave a little girl in Kingston town」の所を「Tokyo town」とか「Osaka town」というふうに歌って盛んに喝采を浴びていましたね。 |
