Noumea Tour
Noumea is the capital of New Caledonia and often is likened to the petit Paris of the Pacific, because the city has a French atmosphere, fine French restaurants and chic boutiques. Most of cars in the roads are French-made Peugeots or Renaults.
We went on a tour in the morning though we were very sleepy and tired from flying overnight. The sky was so blue in New Caledonia.
MOUNT OUEN TORO
First, we went to Mount Ouen Toro on the southern tip of the Noumea peninsula.
It is an outstanding viewpoint over metropolitan Noumea.
This is a 'Petit-train' bus for tourists. It takes tourists to attractions, hotels and downtown.
ILE AUX CANARDS
A view of Canards Island from Mount Ouen Toro.
We went to this island by a taxi boat on the last day and did snorkeling.
F.O.L. HILL
Next,we went to F.O.L. hill. Noumea City is very small. we could see the whole downtown area from the hill.
We could see a cathedral, a blue-roofed market and a yacht basin.
