ベラフォンテのクリスマス・アルバムです。
大ヒットした「マリアの御子の誕まれ給いし日」や「マリアの御子」を含むほか、ポピュラーな「きよしこの夜」や「クリスマスの１２日」などが網羅された素敵なアルバムです。
1958年に一度アルバムが出た後、「マリアの御子の誕まれ給いし日」を加え、曲の順番も若干入れ替えて1962年に再発売されました。
日本では後者のバージョンが発売されましたが、不思議なことにＡ面（１〜６）とＢ面（７〜１３）が逆になっています。
しかし、レコード盤に刻まれた番号やアルバムのジャケットに印刷されている曲名を見ると、どうやら日本発売盤のほうが正しいようです。
